Providence-based artist, Lelia Byron, brings her artwork and handcrafts including paintings, prints, mosaic tables, journals, wood-carvings, pillows, and ceramics to the Providence Flea this Sunday, August 16, 10am to 4pm!
"I am inspired by stories," Lelia tells us, "I paint people and environments that suggest a story. I like complicated street scenes and I like painting scenes from different places in the world. I paint the everyday and its unnoticed beauty. Paint, for me, is fascinating in its flexibility, lusciousness, physicality, and capacity to direct attention to what we might not see." We're blown away by the beauty we see in these everyday scenes painted by Lelia!
See the latest from Lelia's Studio at the Flea this Sunday, 10am to 4pm!
Find Your Cool is a Providence-based online art gallery and art marketing company founded by art lovers Collette and Todd after 20 years of working in the fashion and technology industries. Its focus is on promoting the work and developing the careers of emerging contemporary artists and designers.
When we asked them what inspired their work Collette shared with us, "We moved to Providence and have met many artists doing exquisite work yet who do not know how to create markets for their work. We believe that creativity, art, and design are the highest expression of our humanity and our mission is to support and enable these talented people and to participate in rebuilding our beautiful city and state." These two are a Flea dream!
Collette continues, "We sell a variety of original, hand-crafted products which includes; paintings, limited-edition photography, limited edition prints, sculptures, ceramics and jewelry from local artists and designers. Some of our artists work entirely in re-cycled and up-cycled materials. All of the work is either original or limited-edition reproductions."

Gina's Creations & Vintage brings Victorian Era art deco and vintage clothing & antiques to the Providence River Greenway this Sunday. Gina also offers a Victorian Steampunk inspired jewelry line and her handmade purses from mid-century fabrics.
We asked Gina what brings her to the Providence Flea and she told us, "I am looking to sell my treasures in an upscale environment[...] I am not a junk dealer, I am looking to be apart of a nice market with people who care about what they are doing, are interested in preserving and learning about history through the preservation of these items like I am, and a good crowd of shoppers of course!!" We've got the market for you Gina!

ladeDAH Jewelry returns to the Providence River Greenway this Sunday, August 9 from 10am to 4pm! Owner and designer Sue Gallagher creates funky and fun one-of-kind handmade jewelry using fine silver, gemstones, torch fired enamel, lampwork, leather, and found objects from all over the world!
Sue tells us, "For me, at least half of the fun of making jewelry is the hunt for the perfect materials. My search takes me to Tucson annually, to local New England flea markets regularly, old jewelry warehouses in Rhode Island and New York, as well as many bead extravaganzas throughout the US. And thanks to the many vendors I've become friends with over the years I get to vicariously travel to Thailand, China, Indonesia, Peru, Africa, and many other exotic places. I love the search!"
Originally from Kansas, Sue says her designs reflect her "easy-going style and cowgirl spirit." Well this cowgirl is certainly lucky to travel the world to bring you the finest silver, found objects, and beads! And we're lucky to cash in on her handmade beauties at the Flea this Sunday!
