Josephina's Creations is a veritable smorgasbord of flowers, succulents (her personal favorite), cactus, air plants and other garden delights that Josephina Sullivan has planted in old French pots, sea shells, birdcages, various vintage containers and hypertufa forms that she makes herself!
Josephina told us, "I love the vibe at the Providence Flea..whenever I've gone I've had the best time and I've picked up some of my favorite treasures."
Jo also makes chair gardens, terrariums, and jewelry out of quahog shells... with still more vintage and garden items sprinkled throughout her arrangements. Now she's working on "living walls" -- plant frames that you can hang up outdoors!
Jo said, "I love to garden, collecting fun items that interest me and putting it all together. It's a great experience to share a piece of yourself with others!"
Go Green, literally, with Josephina at The Flea this weekend!
If you have been to the Flea you’ve probably noticed Petals and Pots by Patricia. Their booth is a collection of color and pattern that you want to drink in like homemade iced tea. Delicious.
What will you find at Petals and Pots? Patricia says:
I like to bring a variety of true antiques and vintage pieces to the Flea. I'm not one for reproductions. Anyone can go to a chain store for that!
Why does she like The Flea?
I love being on the water on a sunny Sunday. And most of all, I have met so many interesting people with so many great ideas. What a great bunch of entrepreneurs!
Peruse Petals and Pots by Patricia at the Providence Flea on June 22!
Jennifer Karow of Reclaimed Curiosities told us her favorite thing about flea markets is "mostly never knowing what you might find...and coming up with new ways to use old items." Looks like this Flea newcomer has hit on something big with these lovely terrariums made in vintage containers! Customers may purchase an already crafted terrarium or work with Reclaimed Curiosities to make their own terrarium at their D.I.Y. workshops planned for the Indoor Flea at Hope High School on December 8 & 15! Jen will also bring to the Flea a dynamic mix of items found in nature, barns and flea markets, as well as reclaimed and repurposed items, vintage finds, and photographs. We can hardly wait!! Make your own terrarium at the Indoor Flea on December 8 & 15 with reclaimed Curiosities!
We want you to meet Honey Lemon Vintage! This delicious collection of antiques and collectibles is brought to you by Danielle Blasczak of East Providence. Specializing in kitsch, oddities and uncommon household bric-a-brac, the Honey Lemon Vintage booth is the place for that "must have" find you didn't know you were missing. (You may even find some vintage teacups with a prickly surprise inside!) Danielle says, "I am inspired by the potential The Providence Flea has to be a destination in Providence, for both locals and visitors." Fill that empty place on your shelf--and in your heart--with Honey Lemon Vintage on July 7 and 14; and August 4 and 11!
We're very excited to have Julia Ledoux of Absolutely Creations join us at The Providence Flea. Julia creates plant arrangements using tillandsia, succulents and found objects in unusual containers. Tillandsia species are epiphytes (also called aerophytes or air plants) – i.e., they normally grow without soil while attached to other plants. Julia also makes jewelry from upcycled plumbing hardware and brass housing material found at salvage yards. "The jewelry is raw and edgy and never plated. I like patinas and weathered finishes," she told us. We love her keen eye and funky look!
See Julia at The Flea on June 30, July 21 and August 25.
