![]() "I want to say one word to you...Just one word...Are you listening?...Plastics." Are you ready for The Providence Plastic Project? Maybe Ben* wasn't, but we sure are--and the planet is too! Providence Plastic, a team of three artists and designers, makes cool products from pre-consumer waste. They gather the waste (like bags from dry cleaners) right here in Providence and create bright, colorful and completely unique material for local artists to use in developing new products. They declare, "We are taking recycling into our own hands and working with local companies to pursue completely new ways to deal with local material resources. Think of us as a material microbrewery." Meet your old plastic in a new form at The Providence Flea on June 2, 9,16, 23, 30; July 7,14, 21, 28; and August 4, 11, 18 and 25!
