Steve Duque is an artist, a skateboarder, and a native Rhode Islander. These passions come together in his wonderful handcrafted jewelry and housewares -- all made from repurposed skateboards he finds around town. When Steve isn’t out exploring Rhode Island on his board, he’s gathering broken and discarded skateboards in his studio and carefully shaping them into earrings, necklaces, coasters, pens and other colorful, intricate objects.
Steve is a Flea Fan in his own right. He told EcoRI “The Providence Flea is probably the best flea or art market I’ve ever been to. Not only because I’m a vendor there, but because of what they offer and how organized they are. You’re not just another person who’s signing up for a table. They want to know what you do and how they can be into it. These guys are really into it.”
Aw shucks, Steve. We ARE really into supporting our vendors!
