*****Please note that by acceptance to and participation in the Flea you have agreed to our policies for cancellations/no shows, payment, tent weights, and other general policies below and on the Market application page of our website. These markets are expected to sell out quickly.
ELIGIBILITY
The Flea is a vintage and indie maker market with food trucks and artisan bakers, community nonprofits, etc.
We do not allow anything mass-produced or sold/resold/wholesaled by MLMs or distributors' reps or vendors.
We do not allow service industry companies or home show vendors.
We accept (at the sole discretion of the Flea) local nonprofits with a mission to support Rhode Islanders and or local efforts in the arts and culture, environment, animal welfare, youth development, and some other causes of personal interest to the Flea. Political and religious efforts and orgs not eligible.

Rolling until markets or market categories are full with PAID vendors.
MINIMUMS/RESTRICTIONS - UPDATED
1. RETURNING VENDORS: Two-market minimum. Selecting only one market will delay or disqualify a submission. Selecting only Opening Day and Closing Day will be declined.
2. NEW VENDORS: New vendors who have not set-up with the Flea outdoors are LIMITED to two markets to start and are not eligible for Opening Day, June 1
Once a track record has been established for payment, compliance and attendance, new vendors can apply for additional markets.
***If chosen dates are not available, i.e., waitlisted, new vendors can re-submit for different dates by logging into their account and submitting under "Vendor status, pay invoices add dates" section.
****After 2-market minimum is fulfilled, a vendor may choose to request as many or as few markets as they like, pending availability.
VENDOR FEES
--10x10 - $85
--10x10 with site choice $110
--10x20 (inquire re: location) $170 (+$25 for site choice option)
--10x10 Site share $120 (max of 2 previously accepted vendors, +$25 for site choice). See below for more details.
--Boutique truck/Food truck**/Cart $85 + 30 gallon trash bin on site required
**Food trucks will set up near beer garden.
1. Vendor fee is for space only.
2. Vendors must provide their own tent, tent weights, chairs, tables, set-up, etc.
3. The Flea does not provide or rent equipment.
4. The Flea does not provide help with unloading or set-up.
SITE CHOICE (optional)
Choose your site (optional). Pending availability.
1. Not available to new vendors for their first two markets.
2. Select option with choice ("w/choice") below for any dates that you'd like to choose your site.
3. You'll be contacted in a separate email to provide three choices. Choice is offered pending availability and is not guaranteed. If one of three chosen sites are not available or unacceptable to vendor, choice fee will be refunded.
*** Late payment of invoice will automatically forfeit choice option.
INVOICES
The first invoices will be issued shortly after date confirmation emails are sent out.
FIRST INVOICE & PAYMENTS DEADLINE
1. A confirmed date is confirmation of availability only. Only payment guarantees a site at the market.
2. The FIRST INVOICE IS DUE BY MAY 1 AND IS NON-REFUNDABLE. LATER INVOICES ARE DUE ON RECEIPT.
3. No refunds will be made for a vendor's first invoice of the season for any reason.
4. After May 1 payment deadline, unpaid invoices will be canceled without notice and spots released to the waitlist.
5.. Invoices for any markets after 2-market minimum is met, that are still outstanding on MONDAY MORNING AT 9 AM before a market, may be canceled without notice and released to the waitlist. Spots will be filled until the market category or market is full.
NO WEEKLY BILLING is available during summer months. Billing is for two markets per invoice.
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS - UPDATED
The Flea is Rain or Shine.
1. Weather cancellations for extreme weather at the Flea’s discretion by the Flea will be refunded less a $25 admin fee. There is no rescheduling option.
2. ***No refunds will be made for a vendor's first invoice of the season for any reason.
3. A vendor may cancel subsequent paid dates up until 9 am on the Monday before the scheduled market, and vendor fee will be refunded*** less a $25/market admin fee. ***Not applicable to first invoice of the season.
4. A vendor who cancels after Monday at 9 am before the market, for any reason, forfeits vendor fee for canceled market and no refund or rescheduling option is available FOR ANY REASON.
5. A vendor who does not give advance notice of canceling a confirmed, unpaid date is considered a “no show.” If s/he/they does not make timely payment for confirmed dates (“nonpayment”), s/he/they may lose all dates on the same invoice, as well as future confirmed dates which may be released to the waitlist without notice.
6. No-shows may be canceled or disallowed from future dates at the Flea’s discretion.
SITE SHARE
LIMITED TO TWO accepted Flea vendors.
BOTH VENDORS:
1. Will be issued separate Flea Market Vendor Permits ($10 per) for their respective businesses if selling taxable items.
2. Must meet insurance requirements if applicable (see below).
5. Will each need a Mobile Vendor License ($10 per annum)
6. +$35/market split fee; +$25/market site choice (optional)
REQUIREMENTS
1. ALL VENDORS: CITY OF PROVIDENCE Mobile Vendor’s License - $10 annually.
***ISSUED ONLY ON-SITE AT THE FLEA for all vendors. Do not inquire with City Hall. They will decline to serve you.
2. VENDORS SELLING TAXABLE ITEMS: RI DIVISION OF TAXATION 30-Day Temporary Flea Market Vendor Permit - $10/30-day period.
***ISSUED ONLY ON-SITE AT THE FLEA for vendors selling taxable items. More info to follow.
***RI retail sales permit is not required and is not a substitute for the Vendor Permit.
3. TENT & TENT WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS
NO EXCEPTIONS:
***10' x 10' (maximium) tent required
***120 lbs. minimum approved tent weights per tent (30 lbs. minimum per tent leg) required
***Only official tent weight bags and ingot weights allowed.
No collar weights, DIY sandbags, kettle bells, cinderblocks, buckets, or other DIY weights allowed.
***Grid walls will not be considered toward weight minimum.
ALL VENDORS WILL BE WEIGHED IN BEFORE THEY'RE ALLOWED TO SET-UP.
4. INSURANCE:
***REQUIRED for vendors of soap, apothecary, cosmetics, henna, dog biscuits, and food items. Strongly recommended for everyone else.
***Vendors will need to UPLOAD TO THEIR ACCOUNT a valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming Providence Flea LLC as an "Additional Insured" (P.O. Box 2270, Providence RI 02905) BY MAY 1.
5. DOG TREATS:
***RI DEM certification required.
OTHER RULES/RESTRICTIONS
1. ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ALLOWED IN VENDOR TENTS, including emotional support animals.
