COVID REQUIREMENTS
The Flea  requires:

1. every vendor to 
have at least one 16 oz. bottle of  60% alcohol content hand sanitizer available in their booth for customers;
2.   masks are optional; the mask mandate is not active;
3.   
vendors are still encouraged to observe   the 3-foot rule for social distancing at their  booths.


Since Covid-19 and its variants are similar to the spread of the flu virus, we think it's still a good idea to:
  • accept  cashless  transactions.
  • clean and sanitize  your table/merch regularly and at least between  customer handling.
  • use vinyl or plastic table coverings over cloth table coverings or disposable vinyl tablecloths.
  • aim for a low touch, minimal and sanitary environment, and not use displays that cannot be easily sanitized.​
  • limit live sampling by food, apothecary or candle vendors to single-use samples.​

Position: Curator of Creativity - Hybrid (CLOSED)
WAGE RATE:   $15-$21/hr commensurate with experience
Your Role: As the Curator of Creativity, you will be at the forefront of connecting local creatives with eager patrons. Your mission will include   helping to    curate an immersive marketplace experience.
​Employee Hours: Part-time, hours vary
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Market Manager with planning, scheduling and implementing  market logistics, site mapping, vendor correspondence, etc., on site and remotely.
  • Assist with vendor relations and management/communications.
  • Help to   curate a diverse array of local vendors at each market.
  • Foster relationships with artisans and makers to showcase their unique stories.
  • Coordinate, collaborate and execute engaging events and activities to enhance the market atmosphere
  • Collaborate with local businesses and non profits to promote the "buy local" ethos
  • Stay ahead of trends in the maker movement to keep our market dynamic and fresh
Qualifications:
  • Passion for the local community and the maker movement
  • Creative flair and an eye for unique, high-quality products
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills
  • Experience with Excel, Mailchimp,   Form builder and e-mail   software (Jotform, Mailchimp), e-commerce platforms (Stripe, Paypal, Shopify, Square), etc.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail, critical thinking skills, ability to work independently
  • Experience in customer service helpful
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Enthusiasm for fostering connections between creatives and consumers

PAYMENT DEADLINE **NEW**
A confirmed date is confirmation of availability only.
Invoices for confirmed dates are due upon receipt.*
Confirmed vendors are then “first paid, first placed” until markets are full.
*Vendors who are confirmed for more than two markets will be invoiced for two markets per invoice, and may pay them one invoice at a time every two weeks.
Invoices may remain open by the Flea until Monday at 9 am before a market, but the market may fill up with paid vendors before that time.
After Monday at 9 am before a market, unpaid invoices will be canceled without notice and ALL DATES on that invoice will be released to waiting vendors.
*Only payment guarantees a place at the market.*

MINIMUMS/LIMITS
Returning vendors: Two-market minimum, meaning  a returning vendor must select and pay for a minimum of two markets to start.
New vendors: Two-market limit.  (If you choose more than two markets, the Flea will assign you your first two requested dates.) After a vendor establishes a track record upon paying for and attending two market dates without incident, a new vendor may request additional dates.

CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW POLICIES
1.   The indoor Flea has a rain/snow/shine policy.    
2. If the City, State or the Farm Fresh RI venue cancels   our market due to extreme weather, Covid or other reason, vendors will be refunded their vendor fee less a $25 admin fee.
3. If a vendor cancels   by Monday at 9 am before the  upcoming market, a vendor will be refunded their vendor fee less a $25 admin fee.
4. If a vendor cancels after Monday at 9 am before the upcoming market  or is a no-show  FOR ANY REASON, the vendor forfeits the full vendor fee.
5.  There are no rescheduling options for these markets.
6.  Markets and/or market payments are not transferable to other vendors or other dates.

7.   If a vendor  is a  no-show  (does not cancel in advance for a paid or unpaid, confirmed date), the vendor may not  be invited to return to the Flea.

REQUIREMENTS
1. NEW: At least one social media account in which a vendor promotes   their appearance at the Flea  at least TWICE BEFORE THE FRIDAY OF THE upcoming market.
2. 
For vendors selling taxable merchandise, a 30-Day Temporary Vendor Permit may be required.
3. These are issued    at the market and the cost is $10 per 30-day period.
4. Food vendors will need appropriate state health dept.  and city licensing and insurance.
5. General liability insurance is REQUIRED for vendors of soap, apothecary, cosmetics, henna, makeup, herbal sprays, teas, and other food items. You will need to provide a valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the Flea as an "Additional Insured". 
Insurance is  recommended for all vendors.

Vendors will be contacted upon payment of invoice to  submit their site choices.

Upon selecting market dates, a vendor can request a market date "with choice" for an additional fee. The vendor must pay the invoice for the markets, and after payment of the invoice is received, a vendor will be sent a link to request their site choice. Because of the high demand for site choice, a vendor must submit  *three* choices of sites, and if we're unable to fulfill one of the site choices, we'll refund the fee. WAITLIST/SUBSTITUTIONS
If your site size request is not available, we will SUBSTITUTE and approve you for the next available site size. You can choose to accept the substituted site size or decline the substitution by canceling your invoice and be put on the waitlist for your requested size.   
If there are no sites available, your dates will be waitlisted. We'll contact waitlisted vendors as sites become available from cancellations.
***If you're waitlisted for your requested dates, you may also choose to submit for different dates by logging in to your account and selecting more dates at the bottom of the page under "Vendor Date Status: Pay invoice, Add dates." More info to follow in date confirmation email.

The Flea is an award-winning, open-air market that brings together some of the most sought after makers, upcyclers and vintage dealers together with non-profits, musicians, food trucks and the public. The Flea is entering its 11th season, held every Sunday in the summer on the Providence River Greenway, at 275 South Water Street, and on select Fridays at Farm Fresh RI Market Hall , 10 Sims Ave in Providence.

JOB DESCRIPTION -   MARKET ASSISTANT - OPEN
Employee Hours:
5-10 hours/week -  on site  
Every Sunday, June 4 - September    24, 7 AM - 12 PM AND 12 PM - 4:30 PM SHIFTS OR WORK THE WHOLE DAY.

PLUS two Friday night markets on June 9th and August 18th 2:30-10:30 pm.
Dress code:
Neat casual (shorts, sneakers), Flea t-shirt provided
Description:
Assist with logistics and set-up of on-site market. Includes setting up Flea tent and display, carrying tent weights (able to carry a minimum 30 lbs at least 50 feet), checking in and assisting vendors, assisting with issuing tax permits, monitoring parking and load-in/out, and other duties as assigned. 
Requirements:
Must be a morning person! Must be a people person! Must be on time!
Punctual, professional, mature, friendly, outgoing, assertive.
Experience in customer service helpful.
